My experience with life coaching began years ago and I didn’t even realize it. I have been a military spouse for over 17 years, and I have been involved in various ministries for years before that. My husband is an Army Chaplain, so I found myself – unknowingly – coaching others in various capacities: Bible studies, parenting, marriage. It was 2019 while working as a Case Manager for displaced mothers that I realized I had a passion for coaching – supporting someone as they needed or just wanted to move from where they were to where they wanted to go. Walking alongside women who did not have a home of their own, listening to their struggles and frustrations, and guiding them as they set new goals and worked to achieve them opened my eyes to the giftings God had given me.
For the last two years, I have worked with children, providing coaching and social emotional learning. Before that position, I worked with adults who also dealt with anxiety and what I found to be true is that no matter your age or situation, anxiousness and the lack of knowing how to respond to a current or upcoming situation can be overwhelming and paralyzing. I specialize in managing anxiety - specifically with children/youth - and my approach is to empower you to take charge of your life and make the changes you desire. Determining what causes these feelings of anxiousness, putting a name to them and coming up with a plan to deal with them can open doors you may have thought were locked shut for eternity. Because our anxiousness and and the lack of knowing how to manage it can occur on an individual basis, in relationships like marriage or the family, coaching with me can be done through individual coaching, couple coaching, family coaching, and group coaching. I will walk with you to find steps that will encourage and support you in finding a new way of living while managing the fears that can control you.

I have my Master of Arts, Human Services, Counseling: Life Coach degree, from Liberty University. I have experience working as a Case Manager and two years as a Social Services Manager at an elementary school in Alaska, providing Social Emotional Learning (SEL) as well as coaching to students, families and staff. I have experience working with teens and adults, providing support and encouragement to get through their currrent situation. I am an AACC (American Association of Christian Counseling) Board Certified Master Mental Health Coach. This certification focused on the mental health of children, youth, and adults, along with a specialization in Marriage and Family Coaching.

Personal
My husband, Herb, and I have been married for 31 years. For the last 17 years Herb has been serving as a Chaplain in the US Army. We both grew up in Kansas and consider that our childhood home especially since our families still live there. Like many military families, we have moved more times than I’d like to count and are beginning to discuss where we will retire as we continue to approach that 20-year mark. We have a 26-year-old son, who is an aspiring aid worker and is constantly bustling around for his career. His passion for traveling and seeing the world began our first tour in Germany. My family also has a beautiful 12-year-old Border Collie, Callie. She has traveled the world with us as well. Whiskey, our spunky and somewhat stubborn two-year old Sheepadoodle is the newest family member but has already had the opportunity to live in Washington, Alaska and now New Mexico. I love to travel, both here in the US and abroad. I love music, playing the piano, watching movies and reality TV shows, and spending time with my family.

I have felt called to do the Lord’s work since I was a child and although that “work” has changed over time, He has always been faithful and walked alongside me in my spiritual journey, opening doors I never imagined I’d ever walk through – such as coaching others. There have been numerous times that God has placed someone in my life to coach and mentor me, oftentimes without me even realizing it. That mentoring and coaching ranged from learning how to be a better partner and support to my husband, to parenting and pursuing personal and professional goals. Having someone to walk through the valleys and climb the mountains with us as our story changes can offer support and value beyond our expectations. I have experienced rough roads within my marriage, numerous moves, career changes, culture shock, deployments, and various stages of life and each of those transitions were easier when I had someone walking with me. This is what I want to do for you as an individual, a couple or a family – walk with you as you continue to write your story.
